Erwin sits just off Interstate 26, making it an easy stop for road-trippers exploring the Appalachian Mountains. From I-26, take the Erwin exit (exit 37), and follow signs towards downtown. Rest on Main is conveniently located on the corner of Main Street and 2nd Street, just minutes from the interstate.

About 15 miles south via I-26.

About 45 miles north via I-26.

About 100 miles. Travel east on I-40 to continue north on I-81. Then, follow I-81 North to Exit 23 near Mosheim for US-11E. Continue east on US-11E, US-321, and TN-107 to arrive in Erwin. 

About 175 miles. From I-85, travel west and use US-321 to travel north to connect to I-40. Travel west I-40 to intersect with I-26, and travel north on I-26 to Exit 37 for Erwin. 

About 255 miles. Travel northwest out of Raleigh via I-40 towards Winston-Salem. From Winston-Salem, you can continue on I-40 through Hickory, North Carolina, which will connect to I-26 (Exit 37 for Erwin). Or you can connect to US-421 just west of Winston-Salem to travel through Boone, North Carolina. (Either is a beautiful route!)

No matter which direction you’re arriving from, the drive into Erwin is a scenic one, winding through the foothills of the Unaka Mountains as you make your way into town.

Once you arrive, you won't need a car to enjoy Main Street. Coffee shops, antique stores, and the Capitol Theater are all within easy walking distance. For outdoor adventures like rafting the Nolichucky River or hiking nearby trails, a car is recommended to reach some trailheads and outfitters just outside of town.
